PRIVATE OTTER PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDING ON THE ISLE OF MULL, SCOTLAND

The Isle of Mull is one of the best places in the world to see and photograph the European otter. Whilst it is possible to spot otters even from a vehicle without too much effort, it is far more difficult to get close without causing unnecessary disturbance, and even harder to get good photographic opportunities. As a photography guide based in the Scottish Highlands, with 17 years experience of visiting Mull, I will help maximise your chances of returning home with some beautiful otter photos.
I run these workshops for only one person per day. This not only helps to keep any disturbance to a minimum, it also helps me to give you my full attention as a guide and photographic tutor.
Workshops are available between 1 and 4 days length, but at least two days are recommended in order to increase your chances of great encounters.

Fitness level – low/moderate. Each day may include walking for up to 3km distance, over very rough or slippery ground.
Facilities – we shall be out in a remote location for several hours, and no toilet facilities are available unfortunately.
Footwear – good walking boots are essential.
Clothing – Full waterproofs, wooly hat, gloves, thick socks – all essential. Insulated jacket preferable.
Food – bring plenty!
Suggested camera kit – Mirrorless or DSLR camera with a telephoto lens, of around 500 or 600mm preferable.
